Most writers (if not all) will have trouble with the so called ‘writer’s block’ at some point of their writing careers. Anxiety, fear, a change of lifestyle, the end or the beginning of a project and almost anything can cause that debilitating feeling of fear and frustration. Listed below are 10 suggested steps to recapture your writing passion to get yourself back to writing again.



Step# 1: Set a Writing Schedule. You have to push yourself and ignore the writer’s block symptoms. You have to set a convenient writing schedule. You also have to show up to write. When your physical body starts to show up to the same time and place on a daily basis, eventually your mind will do the same. Step#3: Writing as a job and less as an art mindset! Famous prolific author, Stephen King uses the metaphor of a toolbox as he links it to physical work. By thinking in the perspective of laborers, craftsmen, it becomes easier to write. Besides, by writing stories, poems, or plays, you are also creating literary pieces using vocabulary and grammar instead of bricks and mortar.



Step#4: You deserve a break when your job is done. Your ideas need some time to gestate; idleness can be an important key of the creative process. Take a break to gather new experiences and ideas from life itself, reading, or other forms of art before you resume working again.



Step#5: Obey your deadlines. Be honest and punctual with yourself. Finding a writing partner to help you keep track of deadlines in an encouraging and uncritical way should be really helpful.



Step#6: Investigate for deeper issues. Write or talk with a friend, probably one who also writes, about your anxieties regarding writing or creativity. You can also read books like "The Artist’s Way" but if your writer’s block still continues, you might seek counseling.




Step#7:Do project multitasking. For some writers, switching back and forth from one project to another minimizes fear or boredom or both.



Step#8: Do Writing Exercises. These can loosen up the mind and get you to write things you would never have tried writing at all.



Step#9: Make your Writing Space comfortable. Evaluate if your desk and table are comfortable enough or perhaps you might consider writing in a coffee shop. You should find a space that you will look forward to being in.
